Secord Clinic ("we," "us," "our") operates this website to provide information about our family practice and walk-in clinic in West Edmonton, Alberta, and to help patients book appointments. This page explains what information this website collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It does not cover health information collected during clinical visits, which is governed by Alberta's Health Information Act and our in-clinic privacy practices — ask our front desk for details on that separately.

This policy is written to meet the expectations of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Information We Collect

This website does not require you to create an account. The "Send Us a Message" contact form on this site (for general questions from new and existing patients) collects the name, contact information, and message you choose to enter, and is hosted by Google Forms. We do not ask for your health card number or clinical information through this website — please don't submit that information through any online form or email, for your own protection.

The online appointment booking screen embedded on this site connects you directly and securely to HealthQuest, the clinical scheduling platform our clinic uses to manage appointments. That connection is encrypted (HTTPS), and the booking information you enter — your name, contact details, and appointment preferences — goes directly to HealthQuest to schedule your visit. It is not collected or stored by this website itself.

Cookies on This Site

Cookies are small text files a website can store on your device. We keep cookie use to a minimum and group it into categories:

We don't run analytics or load the map automatically — both require an action from you first (accepting the cookie banner, or clicking to load the map). The booking screen and contact form load when you scroll to those sections, since the page can't offer those features without them.

This site uses a small number of trusted third-party services, each of which processes data according to its own privacy policy:

You can also clear cookies and site data at any time through your browser's settings, or opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's browser add-on.

How Long We Keep Information

We don't operate a database of website visitors. Analytics data (when you've consented to it) is retained according to Google's and Meta's standard analytics retention periods, which you can review in their respective privacy policies linked above.

Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add or remove a third-party service. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
